Welcome to week 1 of Project 2!

If you’re wondering what Project 2 is about and what we’re going to do, you might want to read the post below.  There’s an introduction video and some other resources to have a look at.

Data source: the book ‘After the Deluge’
In project 2 we are taking a book as a data source. The book is called  ‘After the Deluge’, made by the Dutch photographer Kadir Lohuizen. You can find a download link to a .pdf from the book in your e-mail.

If you can’t access the .pdf, don’t worry. In that case you can use this website. The website is full with information and images from the book and is just as good as a data source.

Or you could use these video’s from an exhibition Lohuizen organised:

Week 1 assignments
In the coming three weeks you will be working towards an end product by making some assignments every week. Martha and Marieke explain to you what the first steps and assignments are in this week in this video:

In this hand-out you’ll find the assignments and some pointers:

Miro board
Throughout the whole project we will use this Miroboard:
In the hand-out and the video you can see what the assignment / task is for this week. This you can place on the board. At the end of the project, your design proces will be layed out on the board.

Extra resources:
In the video some extra inspirational resources are mentioned. You can find them here:
Anna Rosling, TEDtalk, Using Photos as Data to Understand the World.

Andy Kirk, Guestlecture on collecting qualitative data from a movie clip or a book:
